Business Analyst - UK-based

Job Summary:

As a Software Business Analyst, you will act as the critical bridge between business stakeholders, end customers, and the technology team. You’ll be responsible for gathering, analysing, and documenting business requirements, translating them into clear user stories and functional specifications for our product and software development teams, and also liaising directly with our customers with implementing our solutions. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our digital products align with Dotlines’ vision of delivering seamless, secure, and intelligent experiences and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product managers, end-to-end designers, and business stakeholders to define software requirements.
  • Translate business objectives into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Analyse and map complex business processes across multiple systems and workflows and product service designs for these processes
  • Facilitate requirement workshops, stakeholder interviews, and solution design sessions.
  • Work closely with UI/UX designers to ensure user experience aligns with functional needs and the vision of the products.
  • Support the creation of wireframes, workflow diagrams, and mock-ups where required.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to define test cases and validate that delivered solutions meet business expectations against defined acceptance criteria.
  • Support sprint planning, backlog refinement, and Agile ceremonies.
  • Contribute to product roadmaps, feasibility studies, and release documentation.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and help define scalable, efficient solutions.
  • Ensure traceability of requirements through the full project lifecycle.
  • Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) and coordinate feedback loops with stakeholders.

Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within a software or technology environment.
  • Experience in SaaS, Networking and security, telecom, environments.
  • Understanding of UI/UX principles and prototyping tools (e.g., Balsamic, Figma)
  • Exposure to data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL).
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Proven ability to document detailed requirements (user stories, use cases, , service designs, workflows).
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and process-mapping capabilities.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, ClickUp, Confluence, or similar for documentation and backlog management.
  • Familiarity with APIs, integrations, and cloud-based applications.
  • Knowledge of UK or EU data protection and security standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO/IEC 27001).
